Select layers
Layers, which include frames, shape, text, images, slices, masks, groups, components, etc., can be selected individually or in bulk in several different ways.
Select a single layer
You can select a layer either by clicking it on the canvas or by selecting it from the layers panel in the left sidebar.
Select on the canvas
When you click a layer on the canvas, it will have a blue bounding box with handles around its edges.
Note: When you select a component or an instance, it will have a magenta bounding box.
If the layer is nested inside another group, frame, or some other layer, there are two ways to select it on canvas:

Hover over the layer and double-click continuously until the desired layer is selected.

Hover over the layer and hold down the deep select shortcut keys (Mac:
Command
/ Windows:Ctrl
) to drill down to the layer, this will allow you to select the layer directly.
Select in the left-side layers panel

Layers are arranged in the layers panel according to their hierarchy on the canvas and are named based on their layer type.

Click the arrow to the left of a frame, a group or a section to expand and view its child layers.
Select multiple layers
When you need to set properties for multiple layers at once, you can select them in bulk using the following methods.
Select on the canvas
Two ways to select multiple layers on the canvas:

Hold down the
Shift
key and click on multiple layers to select them. -
Select multiple layers by dragging the cursor across them. Any part of a layer falls within the marquee, the layer will be selected. If you hold down Mac:
Option
/ Windows:Alt
key while dragging a selection marquee across multiple layers, the entire layer must fall within the marquee to be selected.
Select in the left-side layers panel

To select all layers between two layers, click a layer in the Layers list, then hold down the
Shift
key and select another layer. -
To select multiple layers individually, hold down Mac:
Command
/ Windows:Ctrl
and select another layer
