Know about components
Components can be understood as design templates created to avoid repetitive design work. They not only enhance the efficiency of design tasks but also help team members maintain a consistent design style and adhere to standards.
Create components
You can create a component out of any single layer or collection of layers.
Create a single component
Select the individual or multiple layers you’d like to be included in the component. In the toolbar, click on the dark “Create component” icon. This action will nest the selected layers within a component.
Shortcut keys:
-
Mac:
Option
+Command
+K
-
Windows:
Ctrl
+Alt
+K
Create Components in bulk
Select multiple layers, click on the "Create component" icon in the toolbar, and select “Create components in bulk” from the dropdown menu. This will create a component for each layer.
View components
You can view components in the left-side Assets panel, including:
- Local components: components created in the current file
- Team libraries: team component libraries enabled in the current file
Learn more about how to use the component panel, please see the Help Center - Components panel
You can name your components using the slash separated convention (e.g. B/B/B), and Creatie will automatically group and display components in alphabetical order in the assets panel.
Use components
You can use components by duplicating them or dragging a selected component from the left-side assets panel onto the canvas. The component on the canvas is referred to as an instance.
To learn more about the relationship between components and instances and how to create and edit instances, please see the Help Center - Know about Components and Instances.
