Rulers & guides
The rulers and guides feature in Creatie helps designers visually and accurately position and measure layers and elements, ensuring consistent formatting and efficient alignment.
Rulers
Creatie displays the relative coordinate rulers of the current canvas and the parent frame.
When a layer is selected, the ruler highlights the width, height, and coordinates of the layer projected on the canvas.
Show / Hide rulers
When using Creatie for design, you can show or hide rulers in the following ways:
- Use the shortcut to show / hide the ruler:
Shift+R - Click the menu bar in the upper-left corner, go to View, and check or uncheck Rulers
- Click the view options on the right side of the toolbar, then check or uncheck Rulers.
Note: Showing / hiding rulers will also show / hide guides.
Guides
Guides are displayed as floating lines above the image and are often used together with rulers. Similar to rulers, Creatie has both canvas and frame level guides. They help designers precisely position images or align elements in the design.
Add guides
Once rulers are displayed, click and drag on rulers to pull guides on the canvas or in a frame.

Release the mouse outside a frame to create canvas level guides.

Release the mouse inside a frame to create frame level guides.
The guides can be dragged freely within the canvas or dragged into a frame. Horizontal guides can be adjusted up and down, and vertical guides can be adjusted left and right.
Press the key (Mac: Option / Windows: Alt ) to view the spacing between the guide and the selected layer.
Note: When resizing a layer, if the layer boundary coincides with a guide, the layer boundary will be prioritized. To drag the guide, simply deselect the layer.
Fine-tune guides
For precise adjustments to guide positions, click to select a guide, and then use the Arrow key on the keyboard to move the guide by 1px each time.
Hold down Shift + Arrow key to adjust the guide by 10px for each adjustment.
Remove guides
Drag the guide from the canvas back to the rulers and release it to remove. Or select the guide and press Delete to remove.
