Text properties
Create text
To add text content, you can click on the T icon in the toolbar or use the shortcut key T
, then:
- Click on the canvas to create a text layer
- Or, you can click and drag on the canvas to create a text layer with a fixed width and height.
Text layer created by dragging is initially without filled content by default. Closing the layer when no content is entered will cancel the text creation.
Adjust text properties
You can adjust text properties in the properties panel.
Text properties in right sidebar
Some most commonly used text properties are displayed directly in the right sidebar:
- Font
- Font weight
- Font size
- Line height
- Letter spacing
- Text alignment
- Text resizing
- Auto width: Width automatically adjust to fit all content
- Auto height: Height adjusts automatically to fit all content, and width is fixed.
- Fixed size: Width and height remain fixed, but overflowing text will not be clipped
Note: When you manually adjust the text layer's width or height, the text layer will switch to fixed size
Percentage line height
Vertical spacing between textual lines in a paragraph is adjusted via line height. An appropriate line height can improve the legibility of your text.
In Creatie, the line height of the text created for the first time is auto by default. You can input %
+ Enter
in the line height input box to display the corresponding percentage of the text line height.
You can move the cursor to the Line height icon, press the left mouse button, and drag the mouse left or right to adjust the line height. Or, you can use keyboard shortcuts for quick adjustments:
- Hold down
Shift
+↑
/↓
to adjust line height in 10% increments. - Use
↑
/↓
to adjust line height in 1% increments.

Click the ··· icon to bring up the text settings popup, where you can set more text properties.

Resizing: Besides auto with, auto height, and fixed size, you can truncate text

- Click the paragraph spacing field and enter a value in the input box
- Or hover over the icon to the left of the number and drag left or right

List style: You can switch the text to unordered list or ordered list

Text decoration: You can add underline or strikethrough to the text

Variable settings
You can adjust a font's variable axes settings in variable settings.
