Select layers

Layers, which include images, frames, components, groups, text, shapes, masks, slices, and so on, can be selected individually or as a group in several different ways.

Select a single layer

You can select a layer either by clicking it on the canvas or by selecting it from the Layers panel in the left sidebar.

Select on the canvas

When you click a layer on the canvas, it will have a blue bounding box with handles around its edges. If the layer is nested inside another group, frame, or some other layer, there are two ways to select it on canvas:

  1. Hover over the layer and double-click continuously until the desired layer is selected.
  2. Hover over the layer and hold down the Deep select shortcut keys: Mac: Command / Windows: Ctrl to drill down to the layer, this will allow you to select the layer directly.
